I only have one or two (which were pictured on the blog) and the rest are buried in people's collections or being sold at high prices. There has not been a collection of those stores reprinted either. I will check around though, and if I find anything that can help I'll let you know. I would really like to read the comics themselves, though they seem difficult to find and I can't afford to buy them. Can you help me out? sabrina smallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05527707057419983154noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2089733759263636022.post-38898585996660485602020-04-18T00:48:32.016-04:002020-04-18T00:48:32.016-04:00Thank you Ger. Of course Brodsky ...Just saw this, very good stuff. Of course Brodsky also did the first ten issues of Cracked when he left the company for a short period in the late fifties. I suspect he also did one of the other Mad imitation magazines. It will be in my book, Behaving Madly, but I can't remember without looking it up. I am very sorry Cracked had to be dropped from tht book, but to be honest it deserves a book of it's own. I am still hoping some day it will come. Anyway, to see Brodsky's qualities as an editor, you only have to look at those early issues of Cracked and compare them to Zany, a similar magazine from the same publisher, using much of the same talent - but all edited so badly by Carl Burgos. Brodsky knew what he was doing.Ger Apeldoornhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03633862833036214748noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2089733759263636022.post-33045144496129085052017-04-09T23:04:49.819-04:002017-04-09T23:04:49.819-04:00Robert,

This obviously occurred because the first issue used WEBS ADV. CORP. and ADV. was confused with the title, Adventures of Big Boy. See: https://www.company-detail.com/company-webs-advertising-corporation-101817

I'm surprised the East/West Coast versions issue wasn't mentioned. Stan Lee produced the adventures of big boy as a favor to his friend. But also profited from it. If you look at the very first issue of adventures of big boy, it is very obviously written by stan. On the bottom of the page, everything was owned by robert c wian enterprises. The first run of comics are first rate, and should be regarded as such.

http://www.bobs.net/blog/article/-stan-lee-and-bob-s-big-boyAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17443465003897128996noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2089733759263636022.post-57513671745552901232012-06-18T11:45:48.214-04:002012-06-18T11:45:48.214-04:00Hi Jacque,

(On the voting comic, not Big Boy)

But you left many questions unanswered!

Were these stories written in the Marvel Method? What percentage of the work here was Stan’s? When Lieber wrote the script for the NAACP did Kirby rewrite it? Was Big Boy originally the first herald of Galactus?
